Q1. What is score summary report?

Ans: This report provides the summary of scores for students in a Group. When a Group of students takes a same Test, a score summary report can be generated to see the trends, average score, and more.  The data is available from Socrato which be copied to MS Excel or other analysis tools to generate evermore powerful report. These reports are very helpful to see the big picture and group of students as well as individual student. A sample reports is shown below.

Q2. What is included in score summary report?

Ans: This report is created by Socrato and it includes 6 tabs in MS Excel with following important and crucial data:

  1. Score: Scores Tab displays the scaled score of all the subject.
  2. Percentage: Percent Tab displays the percentage of each subject as well as total percentage of a student. Percentage is calculated on the basis of points (raw score)
  3.  Points: Total number of questions correct.
  4. Benchmark: The benchmarks represent the section scores on each assessment that students should meet or exceed to be considered on track to be college and career ready.
  5. Comparative: In the comparative Tab, the Test is compared with another standardized test to measure the student performance in another test.
  6.  Percentile: Percentile data is National level cumulative percentile for all the subject provided by the SAT organization.

Q7. What is benchmark in score summary report?

Ans:Benchmark in score summary report:

  • The ACT College Readiness Benchmarks are the minimum scores required on each subject test on the ACT (English, mathematics, reading, and science) for students to have a high probability of success in credit-bearing, entry-level college courses in that subject area.

  • ACT has set Benchmarks for the most commonly taken entry-level college courses (English Composition, College Algebra, introductory social science courses, and Biology) and for other courses (such as Calculus and Chemistry).

  • Students who meet a Benchmark on the ACT have approximately a 50 percent likelihood of earning a B or better, and approximately a 75 percent likelihood of earning a C or better, in the corresponding college course or course area, without remediation.

  • The Benchmarks give students, families, and educators useful information for assessing whether a student has mastered the skills they need to succeed in post secondary education.

Q8. What is the comparative test score in score summary report?

Ans: Comparative test score is used for college admission decision and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other.
